Text and translation

The Greek New Testament: SBL Edition, edited by Michael W. Holmes (2010), in the Faithlife electronic repository, public version 1.2. All biblical translation was composed independently after direct Greek reading.

The Greek source contains 1002 numbered entries. Conventional positions 8:37, 15:34, 24:7, and 28:29 have no main-text wording and receive explicit editorial absence notices. Source 19:40 includes the sentence conventionally numbered 19:41; rows 19:40a and 19:40b are explicitly identified as editorial subdivisions, with conventional references separately noted. All 1007 conventional positions are accounted for in 1007 document rows: 1002 source entries, one additional row from the subdivision of source 19:40, and four absence notices. This is not a claim of 1007 numbered Greek source verses.

In the reading text these four positions are passed over without a notice, as the reading protocol requires: the numbering runs 8:36 to 8:38, 15:33 to 15:35, 24:6 to 24:8 and 28:28 to 28:30. The absence notices remain in the comparison edition.

The chapter pages preserve the source reference, Greek–English translation, native headings, and source sequence. The textual and attributed reception notes remain editorial apparatus and are kept separate from the scripture reading pages.
