He Suffered Outside the Gate; Let Us Go Out to Him

Brotherly Love and Hospitality
13:1Let brotherly love remain.
13:2Do not forget hospitality, for through it some unknowingly entertained angels.
13:3Remember the prisoners as fellow prisoners, and those being mistreated, as you yourselves also are in a body.
13:4Let marriage be honored among all, and the marriage bed undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
13:5Let your manner of life be free from the love of money, being content with what is present; for He Himself has said, “I will certainly not leave you, nor will I ever forsake you.”
13:6So we may say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What will a human being do to me?”
Remember Your Leaders
13:7Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. As you consider the outcome of their way of life, imitate their faith.
13:8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for the ages.
13:9Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those occupied with them.
13:10We have an altar from which those serving the tent have no authority to eat.
13:11For the bodies of those animals whose blood the high priest brings into the holy places for sin are burned outside the camp.
13:12Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that He might sanctify the people through His own blood.
13:13So let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
13:14For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the one to come.
13:15Therefore through Him let us continually offer God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips confessing His name.
13:16And do not forget doing good and sharing, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
Obey Your Leaders and Pray for Us
13:17Obey your leaders and yield to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they may do this with joy and not groaning, for that would be unprofitable for you.
13:18Pray for us, for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, wishing to conduct ourselves well in everything.
13:19And I urge you all the more to do this, so that I may be restored to you sooner.
Benediction
13:20Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus, in the blood of an eternal covenant,
13:21equip you with every good thing to do His will, working in us what is pleasing before Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for the ages. Amen.
Final Words and Greetings
13:22And I urge you, brothers, bear with the word of encouragement, for I have written to you briefly.
13:23Know that our brother Timothy has been released; if he comes soon, I will see you with him.
13:24Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
13:25Grace be with you all.
