Stand Firm in the Lord

4:1So then, my beloved and longed-for brothers, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, beloved.

4:2I exhort Euodia and I exhort Syntyche to think the same thing in the Lord.

4:3Yes, I ask you also, true yoke-fellow, help these women, who strove with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Rejoice in the Lord Always

4:4Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say: rejoice.

4:5Let your gentleness be known to all people. The Lord is near.

4:6Be anxious about nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

4:7And the peace of God, which surpasses every understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Finally, Brothers, Whatever Is True

4:8Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever are honorable, whatever are just, whatever are pure, whatever are lovely, whatever are well spoken of, if there is any excellence and if there is any praise, consider these things.

4:9The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, practice these; and the God of peace will be with you.

Thanks for the Philippians’ Gift

4:10Now I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. You were indeed concerned, but lacked opportunity.

4:11Not that I speak because of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.

4:12I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret, both to be filled and to hunger, both to abound and to be in need.

4:13I have strength for all things in the One who empowers me.

4:14Nevertheless, you did well to share in my affliction.

4:15And you Philippians also know that at the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no Church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone,

4:16because even in Thessalonica you sent once and twice for my need.

4:17Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your account.

4:18But I have received everything and abound; I have been filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things from you, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

4:19And my God will fill every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

4:20Now to our God and Father be glory for the ages of ages. Amen.

Final Greetings

4:21Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers with me greet you.

4:22All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.

4:23The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
