The Four Winds Held Back
7:1After this I saw four angels standing upon the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, so that no wind might blow upon the earth or upon the sea or upon any tree.
7:2And I saw another angel coming up from the rising of the sun, having a seal of the living God, and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels who were given to harm the earth and the sea,
7:3saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we seal the slaves of our God upon their foreheads.”
The One Hundred Forty-Four Thousand Sealed
7:4And I heard the number of those sealed: a hundred forty-four thousand, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel.
7:5From the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand sealed; from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand;
7:6from the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand;
7:7from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand;
7:8from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand sealed.
A Great Multitude That No One Could Number
7:9After these things I saw, and look, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches in their hands.
7:10And they cry with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God, the One sitting upon the throne, and to the Lamb.”
7:11And all the angels were standing around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell upon their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
7:12saying, “Amen. The blessing and the glory and the wisdom and the thanksgiving and the honor and the power and the strength belong to our God for the ages of the ages. Amen.”
Those Who Came Out of the Great Affliction
7:13And one of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?”
7:14And I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great affliction, and they washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
7:15For this reason they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple, and the One sitting upon the throne will spread His tent over them.
7:16They will hunger no more or thirst any more, nor will the sun fall upon them, nor any burning heat,
7:17because the Lamb in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and guide them to springs of waters of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”
