The Sons of Judah
4:1Judah’s sons: Phares, Arson, Charmi, Or, Soubal,
4:2and Raia his son. Soubal fathered Jeth, and Jeth fathered Achimi and Laad. These were the generations of the Sarathi.
4:3These were Aitam’s sons: Jezrael, Ragma, and Jabas. Their sister’s name was Eselebbōn.
4:4Phanouel was Gedor’s father, and Azer was Osan’s father. These were the sons of Or, Ephratha’s firstborn, Bethlehem’s father.
4:5Saour, Thekoe’s father, had two wives, Aoda and Thoada.
4:6Aoda bore him Ochazam, Hephad, Thaiman, and Astheran. All these were Aoda’s sons.
4:7Thoada’s sons: Sareth, Saar, and Ethnan.
4:8Kos fathered Enob and Sabeba, and the generations of the brother of Rechab son of Jarim.
The Prayer of Igabes
4:9Igabes was more renowned than his brothers. His mother named him Igabes, saying, ‘I bore as gabes.’
4:10Igabes called upon Israel’s God, saying, ‘If You truly bless me and enlarge my boundaries, and Your hand is with me, You will bring about knowledge, so that I am not humbled.’ God brought about everything he asked.
The Generations of Caleb and Kenaz

4:17Esri’s sons: Jether, Morad, Apher, and Jalon. Jether fathered Maron, Semai, and Mareth, Esthemon’s father.
4:18His wife—she was Adia—bore Jared, Gedor’s father, Aber, Sochon’s father, and Jekthiel, Zano’s father. These were the sons of Gelia daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mored took.
4:19The sons of the woman Idouia, Nachem’s sister. Dalia was Keila’s father, and Semeion was Joman’s father. The sons of Naem, Keila’s father: Agarmi and Esthemoe Machathi.
4:20Semion’s sons: Amnon and Rana, Anan’s son, and Thilon. Isei’s sons: Zoath and Zoath’s sons.
The Sons of Selom
4:21The sons of Selom son of Judah: Er, Lecha’s father, Laada, Maresa’s father, and the families of houses of ephrath abak belonging to Esoba’s house,

4:27Semei had sixteen sons and three daughters, but their brothers did not have many sons. All their families did not multiply as much as Judah’s sons.
The Dwellings of Simeon
4:28They lived in Beersheba, Sama, Molada, and Esersoual,
4:29Balaa, Boasom, and Thoulad,
4:30Bathouel, Erma, and Seklag,
4:31Baithmarchaboth, half of Sosim, and the house of Baroumseorim. These were their cities until King David.
4:32Their farmsteads were Aitam, Enremmon, Thokkan, and Aisan, five cities,
4:33with all their farmsteads around these cities as far as Baal. This was their possession and their enrollment.
The Rulers of Simeon
4:34Mosobab, Jemoloch, and Josia son of Amasia,
4:35Joel—and this one was Isabia’s son—son of Saraia, son of Asiel,
4:36Elioenai, Jakaba, Jasouia, Asaia, Ediel, Ishmael, and Banaia,
4:37Zouza son of Sephei son of Allon son of Jedia son of Samari son of Samaios.
4:38These passed through under the names of rulers in their generations, and in their ancestral houses they multiplied into a multitude.
Simeon Seeks Pasture Toward Gerara
4:39They went as far as the approach to Gerara, as far as the east of Gai, to seek pastures for their livestock.
4:40They found rich, good pastures. The land was broad before them, with peace and quiet, for those who formerly lived there were from Ham’s sons.
