Michael the Great Angel
12:1At that hour Michael will pass by, the great angel who stands over the sons of your people. That will be a day of affliction such as has not occurred since they came into being until that day. On that day all the people found inscribed in the book will be exalted.
Many of Those Sleeping Will Arise
12:2Many of those sleeping in the breadth of the earth will arise: some to everlasting life, others to reproach, and others to dispersion and everlasting shame.
12:3Those who understand will appear like heaven’s lights, and those who strengthen my words like the stars of heaven for the age of the age.
Seal the Book Until the Time
12:4But you, Daniel, cover the commands and seal the book until the time of completion, until the many go mad and the earth is filled with injustice.”
12:5I, Daniel, saw two others standing, one on this side of the river and one on the other.
12:6I said to the one clothed in fine linen above, “When, then, will the wonders you have told me reach completion, and these things be cleansed?”
12:7I heard the one clothed in fine linen above the river’s water say, “Until the time of completion.” He raised his right hand and his left to heaven and swore by God who lives forever that in a time, times, and half a time would be the completion of the “hands of release” of a holy people, and all these things would be completed.
12:8I heard, but did not understand the time from him. I said, “My lord, what is the interpretation of this word, and what do these figures concern?”
12:9He said to me, “Go away, Daniel, for the commands are covered and sealed until
12:10many are tested and made holy, and sinners sin. None of the sinners will understand, but those who understand will pay attention.
The Days Numbered
12:11From when the sacrifice is removed for all time and preparations are made to set up the abomination of desolation: one thousand two hundred ninety days.
12:12Blessed is the one who perseveres and reaches a total of one thousand three hundred thirty-five days.
12:13But you, go and rest, for there are still days and hours until completion is fulfilled. You will rest and arise for your glory at the completion of days.”
