Son of Man, Stand on Your Feet

2:1He said to me, “Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak to you.”

2:2A spirit came upon me, took me up, raised me, and set me on my feet; I heard Him speaking to me,

2:3and He said to me, “Son of man, I am sending you out to the house of Israel, those who embitter Me, who have embittered Me, they and their fathers, until this present day,

2:4and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord.’

2:5If indeed they listen or are terrified—for it is an embittering house—they will know that you are a prophet among them.

2:6And you, son of man, do not fear them or be shaken before their faces, because they will rage and gather against you all around, and you dwell among scorpions. Do not fear their words or be shaken before their faces, for it is an embittering house.

2:7Speak My words to them, if indeed they listen or are terrified, for it is an embittering house.

2:8And you, son of man, hear the One speaking to you. Do not become embittering like the embittering house. Open your mouth wide and eat what I give you.”

2:9I looked, and behold, a hand was stretched toward me, and in it was a scroll of a book;

2:10and He unrolled it before me. It had writing on the back and the front, and upon it were written a lament, a song and woe.
