I Will Be Like the Dew to Israel

14:1Samaria will disappear because she opposed her God. They will fall by the sword; their nursing infants will be dashed to the ground, and their pregnant women will be ripped open.

Return, Israel, to the Lord Your God

14:2Return, Israel, to the Lord your God, because you grew weak in your injustices.

14:3Take words with yourselves and return to the Lord your God. Speak to Him so that you do not receive injustice but receive good things, and we will repay the fruit of our lips.

14:4Assur will certainly not save us; we will not mount a horse, and we will certainly no longer call the works of our hands “Our gods.” The One in you will have mercy on an orphan.

I Will Be Like Dew to Israel

14:5I will heal their dwellings; I will love them openly, because My anger turned away from them.

14:6I will be like dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily and put down his roots like Lebanon.

14:7His branches will spread, and he will be like an olive tree laden with fruit; his fragrance will be like Lebanon.

14:8They will return and settle beneath his shelter; they will live and be filled to intoxication with grain. His memorial will blossom like a vine, like Lebanon’s wine.

14:9As for Ephraim, what has he still to do with idols? I humbled him, and I will strengthen him. I am like a thickly shading juniper; from Me your fruit is found.

Who Is Wise and Will Understand These Things?

14:10Who is wise and will understand these things, or discerning and will recognize them? For the Lord’s ways are straight; the righteous will walk in them, but the impious will grow weak in them.
