A Man Will Be a Hiding Place from the Wind

A Righteous King Will Reign
32:1For look, a righteous king will reign, and rulers will rule with judgment.
32:2The man will conceal his words and hide as from rushing water; he will appear in Zion like a rushing river, glorious in a thirsty land.
32:3They will no longer trust in human beings, but will give their ears to listen.
32:4The weak people’s heart will attend to listening, and stammering tongues will quickly learn to speak peace.
32:5They will no longer tell the fool to rule, and your attendants will no longer say, “Be silent.”
32:6For the fool will speak foolish things, and his heart will think futile things, carrying out lawless acts and speaking deception toward the Lord, scattering hungry souls and making thirsty souls empty.
32:7For evil people’s counsel will devise lawless things, to destroy the lowly with unjust words and scatter the lowly people’s words in judgment.
32:8The devout planned understanding things, and this counsel will remain.
Wealthy Women, Rise and Hear My Voice
32:9Wealthy women, rise and hear my voice! Daughters in hope, hear my words!
32:10Remember the days of a year in pain with hope; the vintage has been exhausted, the sowing has ceased and will certainly no longer come.
32:11Be dismayed, grieve, you confident women; undress, become naked and gird sackcloth around your waists,
32:12and beat your breasts because of the desirable field and fruitful vine.
Thorn and Grass on My People’s Earth
32:13My people’s earth will grow thorn and grass, and joy will be removed from every house. Wealthy city,
32:14houses abandoned! They will leave the city’s wealth and desirable houses; villages will become caves forever, wild donkeys’ delight, pastures for shepherds,
32:15until a spirit from on high comes upon you. Chermel will become wilderness, and Chermel will be reckoned as forest.
32:16Judgment will rest in the wilderness, and righteousness will dwell in Carmel.
The Works of Righteousness Will Be Peace
32:17Righteousness’s works will be peace; righteousness will secure rest, and they will be confident forever.
32:18His people will dwell in a city of peace and live confidently, and they will rest with wealth.
32:19If hail comes down, it will not come upon you. Those dwelling in the forests will be confident like those in the plain.
32:20Blessed are those sowing beside every water, where ox and donkey tread!
