You Will Be Called by a New Name

For Zion I Will Not Be Silent

62:1For Zion I will not be silent, and for Jerusalem I will not let up until My righteousness goes out like light and My salvation burns like a torch.

62:2Nations will see your righteousness and kings your glory. He will call you your new name, which the Lord will name.

62:3You will be a crown of beauty in the Lord’s hand and a royal diadem in your God’s hand.

62:4You will no longer be called Abandoned, nor will your land be called Desert. You will be called My Desire, and your land Inhabited.

As a Bridegroom Rejoices over a Bride

62:5As a young man lives with a virgin, so your sons will dwell with you. As a bridegroom rejoices over a bride, so the Lord will rejoice over you.

62:6Upon your walls, Jerusalem, I appointed guards all day and all night, who will never be silent as they remember the Lord.

62:7For there is no one like you, if He restores Jerusalem and makes her a source of pride upon earth.

62:8The Lord swore by His right hand and the strength of His arm: “I will no longer give your grain and food to your enemies, nor will foreigners drink your wine for which you toiled.

Those Who Gather Will Eat

62:9Instead, those who gather will eat these things and praise the Lord, and those who gather will drink them in My holy dwellings.”

62:10Go through My gates and make a road for My people. Scatter the stones from the road; raise a signal for the nations!

62:11For look, the Lord has made it heard to earth’s farthest end: “Tell daughter Zion, ‘Look, the savior is arriving for you, bringing His own reward and His work before His face.’”

A Holy People Redeemed by the Lord

62:12He will call it a holy people redeemed by the Lord; but you will be called a sought-out city, not abandoned.
