Greek Psalm 128
The Ploughers Ploughed Upon My Back and Made Long Furrows
← Greek Psalm 127 · Psalms: all chapters · Greek Psalm 129 →
128:1A song of the ascents.
Many times they fought against me from my youth—
let Israel now say—
128:2many times they fought against me from my youth,
and indeed they did not prevail over me.
128:3On my back sinners worked;
they prolonged their lawlessness.
128:4The righteous Lord cut apart
the necks of sinners.
128:5May all who hate Zion
be put to shame and turn backward.
128:6May they become like grass on roofs,
which dried up before it was pulled out,
128:7with which no reaper has filled his hand,
nor the one gathering sheaves his bosom,
128:8And passersby have not said,
“The Lord’s blessing be upon you;
we have blessed you in the Lord’s name.”
