A New Song, and a Two-Edged Sword in Their Hands

149:1Hallelujah.

Sing a new song to the Lord,

His praise in the assembly of holy ones.

149:2Let Israel rejoice in the One who made it,

and let Zion’s children exult in their King.

149:3Let them praise His name in a chorus;

with tambourine and psaltery let them make music to Him.

149:4For the Lord takes pleasure in His people,

and He will exalt the meek in salvation.

149:5Holy ones will boast in glory

and rejoice upon their beds.

149:6Exaltations of God in their throat,

and two-edged swords in their hands,

149:7to execute vengeance among the nations,

reproofs among the peoples,

149:8to bind their kings in fetters

and their glorious ones in iron handcuffs,

149:9to execute upon them a written judgment.

This is glory for all His holy ones.
