Greek Psalm 27

Do Not Be Silent to Me, Lest I Go Down to the Pit

27:1Of David.

To You, Lord, I cried;

my God, do not keep silence toward me,

lest You keep silence toward me

and I become like those descending into a pit.

27:2Hear the voice of my petition as I petition You,

as I lift my hands toward Your holy temple.

27:3Do not drag my soul away together with sinners,

and do not destroy me together with those working injustice,

who speak peace with their neighbors

while evils are in their hearts.

27:4Give them according to their works

and according to the wickedness of their practices;

give them according to the works of their hands;

repay their recompense to them.

27:5Because they did not understand the Lord’s works

or the works of His hands,

You will pull them down and certainly not build them up.

27:6Blessed be the Lord,

because He heard the voice of my petition.

27:7The Lord is my helper and my protector;

in Him my heart hoped, and I was helped,

and my flesh blossomed anew;

from my own will I will thank Him.

27:8The Lord is the stronghold of His people

and the protector of the salvations of His anointed.

27:9Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;

shepherd them and lift them up forever.
