80:1For the end; concerning the winepresses. A psalm for Asaph.

80:2Exult in God our helper;

raise a shout to the God of Jacob.

80:3Take up a psalm and sound the tambourine,

a delightful psaltery together with a lyre.

80:4Sound the trumpet at the new moon,

on the conspicuous day of our feast.

80:5For it is an ordinance for Israel

and a judgment of the God of Jacob.

80:6He established it as a testimony in Joseph,

when he went out from the land of Egypt;

a language he did not know, he heard.

80:7He removed his back from burdens;

his hands served at the basket.

80:8In affliction you called on Me, and I delivered you;

I heard you in the hidden place of the storm;

I tested you at the water of contention.

80:9Hear, My people, and I solemnly testify to you;

Israel, if you listen to Me,

80:10There shall be no new god among you,

nor shall you bow down to a foreign god.

80:11For I am the Lord your God,

who brought you up from the land of Egypt.

Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

80:12And My people did not listen to My voice,

and Israel did not pay attention to Me.

80:13So I sent them away according to the practices of their hearts;

they will walk in their practices.

80:14If My people had listened to Me,

if Israel had walked in My ways,

80:15in no time I would have humbled their enemies

and laid My hand upon those who afflict them.

80:16The Lord’s enemies lied to Him,

and their appointed time will be forever.

80:17And He fed them with the finest wheat,

and with honey from rock He satisfied them.
