The Collection for the Saints
16:1Now concerning the collection for the saints: just as I directed the Churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.
16:2On the first day of every week, let each of you set something aside with himself, saving whatever he may prosper by, so that collections may not be made when I come.
16:3When I arrive, I will send those whom you approve by letters to carry your gracious gift to Jerusalem.
16:4If it is fitting for me to go as well, they will go with me.
Paul’s Travel Plans
16:5I will come to you when I have passed through Macedonia, for I am going through Macedonia.
16:6Perhaps I will remain with you, or even spend the winter, so that you may send me onward wherever I go.
16:7For I do not want to see you now merely in passing; I hope to remain with you for some time, if the Lord permits.
16:8But I will remain in Ephesus until Pentecost,
16:9for a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many opponents.
Timothy and Apollos
16:10If Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear, for he works the Lord’s work just as I do.
16:11Therefore let no one despise him. Send him onward in peace, so that he may come to me, for I await him with the brothers.
16:12Now concerning Apollos the brother: I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers, but it was certainly not his wish to come now. He will come when he has opportunity.
Stand Firm in the Faith
16:13Stay awake; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
16:14Let everything among you be done in love.
16:15Now I appeal to you, brothers—you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia and that they devoted themselves to serving the saints—
16:16that you too submit to such people, and to everyone who works together and labors.
16:17I rejoice at the arrival of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they filled what was lacking on your part,
16:18for they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore recognize such people.
Final Greetings
16:19The Churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca, together with the Church in their house, greet you warmly in the Lord.
16:20All the brothers greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
16:21The greeting is in my own hand—Paul’s.
16:22If anyone does not love the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come!
16:23The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
16:24My love be with all of you in Christ Jesus.
