Final-reference review: All 83 selected SBLGNT verses were reviewed against the Greek main text in complete literary units. The reading changes clarify ancestral service at 1:3 and the plural closing address at 4:22. Every verse below has a textual observation and precisely scoped Christian reception. Chrysostom is consulted in the NPNF English presentation at New Advent, not collated in Greek; differences in its biblical quotations are identified. Bunyan’s section numbers are editorial navigation in Project Gutenberg, and his allegory is distinguished from historical exposition. No passage-specific C. S. Lewis reception was verified for inclusion. Manuscript and critical-apparatus collation, exhaustive reception history and independent specialist certification are not claimed.

Contextual term record
anazōpyreō → rekindle. The gift is pictured as a fire to be stirred.
parathēkē → deposit. Both entrusted responsibility and what Paul entrusts remain possible at 1:12.
orthotomeō → cut a straight course. The straight-cutting image is retained in responsible handling of the word.
theopneustos → inspired by God. The divine-breath compound; predicate versus attributive construction is noted.
doulos → slave. The Lord’s servant metaphor at 2:24 occurs with gentleness and patience.
spendō / analysis → be poured out / departure. The libation and departure images of 4:6 remain distinct.
Material decisions
New English translation from actual G; no modern English Bible used as a paraphrase base.
The term record identifies the libation verb at 4:6 as spendō (σπένδω); its transliteration was corrected during the full source review.

Retained shorter teacher at 1:11, future will give at 2:7, Lord at 2:14, plural teachers at 3:14, future repay at 4:14, Prisca at 4:19, and the short Lord formula and singular/plural changes at 4:22.
The deposit ambiguity, 2:26 pronoun problem, and alternative 3:16 clause construction are disclosed. Onesiphorus’s life status and the contents of Paul’s books are not invented.
Patristic passages are selective verified reception in identified English presentations, separate from the Greek translation.
Open questions and remaining review
Independent specialist review is especially needed at 1:3,7,9,12,18; 2:2,13–16,21,25–26; 3:6,14–17; 4:1,3,13,17.
The referents of 2:26 remain particularly uncertain; the selected construction requires review.
No independent manuscript collation or qualified linguistic, theological, or ecclesial certification is claimed.

Collation against Nestle–Aland 28
On 13 September 2026 every verse of this book where the SBLGNT and NA28 differ was identified from the edition marks of Tyndale House's Translators Amalgamated Greek New Testament (STEPBible, CC BY 4.0) and the SBLGNT apparatus, and the rendering above was read at each one. 6 verses differ; 4 of them would read differently in English if NA28 were translated instead of the SBLGNT, and each of those carries a note above beginning "NA28". The collation is against TAGNT's edition marks and the SBLGNT apparatus; a printed NA28 apparatus has not been consulted, and NA28's square brackets are inferred, not recorded.
At 1 place the rendering follows a reading other than the SBLGNT it declares: 2 Timothy 2:13 (NA28). Each is marked in its note.
