Put On the Whole Armour of God

Children and Parents
6:1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
6:2“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—
6:3“so that it may be well with you and you may live long upon the earth.”
6:4And fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but nourish them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
Slaves and Masters
6:5Slaves, obey your masters according to the flesh with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as you would Christ,
6:6not with service only under their eyes, as people-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the soul,
6:7serving with goodwill, as to the Lord and not to human beings,
6:8knowing that whatever good each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free.
6:9And masters, do the same things toward them, giving up threats, knowing that both their Master and yours is in the heavens, and there is no partiality with Him.
The Whole Armor of God
6:10Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the might of His strength.
6:11Put on the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
6:12For our wrestling is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
6:13For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and, having accomplished everything, to stand.
6:14Stand, therefore, having girded your waist with truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness,
6:15and having shod your feet with the readiness of the gospel of peace,
6:16in all circumstances taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
6:17And receive the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
6:18with every prayer and supplication, praying at every time in the Spirit, and for this keeping watch with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,
6:19and for me, so that a word may be given to me when I open my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,
6:20for which I serve as an ambassador in a chain, so that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Tychicus Sent and Final Blessing
6:21Now so that you also may know my circumstances, what I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make everything known to you.
6:22I sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know about us and he may encourage your hearts.
6:23Peace to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
6:24Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruptibility.
