The Scroll with Seven Seals
5:1And I saw upon the right hand of the One sitting upon the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals.
5:2And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and loose its seals?”
5:3And no one in heaven or upon the earth or beneath the earth was able to open the scroll or look at it.
5:4And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look at it.
5:5And one of the elders says to me, “Do not weep. Look, the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, conquered, to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
The Lamb Takes the Scroll
5:6And I saw in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing as slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth.
5:7And He came and has taken it from the right hand of the One sitting upon the throne.
5:8And when He took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb, each having a lyre and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
5:9And they sing a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because You were slaughtered and purchased for God in Your blood people from every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
5:10and You made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they reign upon the earth.”
Worthy Is the Lamb
5:11And I saw, and heard a voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,
5:12saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive the power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”
5:13And every creature in heaven and upon the earth and beneath the earth and upon the sea, and all the things in them, I heard saying, “To the One sitting upon the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the dominion for the ages of the ages.”
5:14And the four living creatures were saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell and worshiped.
