The Divisions of the Gatekeepers
26:1For the divisions of the gates: of the sons of Koreim, Mosollamia son of Kore, of Abiasaph’s sons.
26:2Mosollamia had sons: Zacharias the firstborn, Idiel the second, Zabadias the third, Jethnouel the fourth,
26:3Olam the fifth, Joanan the sixth, Elioenai the seventh.
26:4Abdedom had sons: Samaias the firstborn, Jozabad the second, Joaa the third, Sochar the fourth, Nathanael the fifth,
26:5Amiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Phollathi the eighth, because God had blessed him.
26:6To Samaia his son were born sons of the firstborn Rosai for his ancestral house, because they were mighty.
26:7Samaia’s sons: Gothni, Raphael, Obed, Elzabad, and Achiou, mighty sons; Eliou, Sabchia, and Isbakom.
26:8All were from Abdedom’s sons, they and their brothers and their sons, working mightily in the labor: sixty-two in all belonging to Abdedom.
26:9Mosollamia had sons and brothers—eighteen mighty men.
26:10Osa, of Merari’s sons, had sons guarding the leadership, for he was not firstborn, and his father made him ruler
26:11of the second division; Tablai the third, Zacharias the fourth. All these, Osa’s sons and brothers, were thirteen.
26:12These divisions of gates, belonging to the rulers of the mighty men, had service courses like their brothers, to minister in the Lord’s house.
The Lots Cast for the Gates
26:13They cast lots for the small and the great, according to their ancestral houses, for each gate.
26:14The eastern lot fell to Salamia and Zacharia. The sons of Joas cast lots for Melchia, and the lot came out northward.
26:15To Abdedom fell the south, opposite the house of esephin,
26:16for the second; to Osa, westward beyond the gate of the chamber of the ascent, guard opposite guard.
26:17To the east, six each day; to the north, four each day; to the south, four each day; and for the esephin, two;
26:18for those relieving one another, and westward four, and for the path two relieving one another.
26:19These were the divisions of the gatekeepers belonging to Kore’s sons and Merari’s sons.
Those over the Treasuries
26:20The Levites, their brothers, were over the treasuries of the Lord’s house and the treasuries of the consecrated things.
26:21Ladan’s sons, the sons of the Gersoni belonging to Ladan, the ancestral rulers belonging to Ladan the Gersoni: Jiiel.
26:22Jiiel’s sons: Zethom and Joel, the brothers, over the treasuries of the Lord’s house.
26:23For Ambram, Issaar, Chebron, and Oziel:
26:24Soubael, the descendant of Gersam, the descendant of Moses, was leader over the treasuries.
26:25For his brother Eliezer were Raabias a son, and Josaias, Joram, Zechri, and Salomoth.
26:26This Salomoth and his brothers were over all the treasuries of the holy things that King David and the ancestral rulers, commanders of thousands and hundreds and leaders of the force, had consecrated,
26:27which he took from the wars and from the spoils, and from which he consecrated gifts so that the building of God’s house would not fall behind,
26:28and over all the holy things of Samuel the prophet, Saul the descendant of Kis, Abenner the descendant of Ner, and Joab the descendant of Sarouia: everything they consecrated was through the hand of Salomoth and his brothers.
The Outside Labors and the Judges
26:29Of the Issari, Chonenia and his sons were assigned the outside labor over Israel, to act as scribes and give judgments.
26:30Of the Chebroni, Asabias and his brothers, mighty men, a thousand seven hundred, had oversight of Israel beyond the Jordan toward the west for all the Lord’s ministry and the king’s work.
26:31Of the Chebroni, Joudias was ruler of the Chebroni according to their generations and ancestral houses. In the fortieth year of his reign they were inspected, and a mighty man was found among them at Jazer in Galaaditis,
26:32and his brothers, mighty men, were two thousand seven hundred ancestral rulers. King David appointed them over the Roubeni, the Gaddi, and half the tribe of Manasseh for every ordinance of the Lord and word of the king.
