Against Mount Seir
35:1The Lord’s word came to me, saying,
35:2“Son of man, turn your face toward Mount Seir and prophesy against it,
35:3and say, ‘Thus says the Lord, the Lord: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir. I will stretch My hand against you and make you a wilderness, and you will be laid waste.
35:4I will make desolation for your cities, and you will be a wilderness. You will know that I am the Lord.
35:5Because you became an everlasting enemy and ambushed Israel’s house treacherously, by enemies’ hand, with a sword at the final time of injustice,
35:6therefore, I live, says the Lord, the Lord: surely you sinned unto blood, and blood will pursue you.
35:7I will make Mount Seir a wilderness and laid waste, and destroy human beings and livestock from it,
35:8and fill the hills and your ravines with your wounded. In all your plains, those wounded by the sword will fall within you.
35:9I will make you an everlasting wilderness, and your cities certainly will not be inhabited again. You will know that I am the Lord.
35:10Because you said, ‘The two nations and the two countries will be mine, and I will inherit them,’ and the Lord is there,
35:11therefore, I live, says the Lord: I will deal with you according to your hostility and make Myself known to you when I judge you.
35:12You will know that I am the Lord. I heard the voice of your blasphemies, because you said, ‘Israel’s mountains are desolate; they have been given to us for food.’
35:13You spoke grandly against Me with your mouth. I heard.
In the Rejoicing of the Whole Earth
35:14Thus says the Lord: In the rejoicing of the whole earth, I will make you a wilderness.
35:15You will be a wilderness, Mount Seir, and all Idumea will be utterly consumed. You will know that I am the Lord their God.’”
