Against the Mountains of Israel

6:1The Lord’s word came to me, saying,

6:2“Son of man, set your face firmly against the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them,

6:3and say, ‘Mountains of Israel, hear the Lord’s word. Thus says the Lord to the mountains, hills, ravines and wooded valleys: Behold, I am bringing a sword against you, and your high places will be destroyed,

6:4and your altars and your sacred precincts will be shattered; I will cast down your wounded before your idols,

6:5and I will scatter your bones around your altars.

6:6In all your dwelling territory the cities will be made desolate and the high places will disappear, so that your altars are destroyed, your idols shattered, and your sacred precincts removed;

6:7wounded people will fall in your midst, and you will recognize that I am the Lord.

The Survivors Will Remember Me

6:8When there are among you survivors of the sword among the nations, and in your scattering in the lands,

6:9the survivors from among you will remember Me among the nations where they were taken captive. I have sworn against their heart that whores away from Me and their eyes that whore after their pursuits; they will beat their faces over all their abominations.

6:10They will recognize that I, the Lord, have spoken.

Clap Your Hand, Stamp Your Foot

6:11Thus says the Lord: Clap your hand, stamp your foot, and say, “Aha! Aha!” over all the abominations of the house of Israel; they will fall by sword, death and famine.

6:12The one near will fall by the sword, the one far away will die by death, and the one enclosed will perish by famine; I will complete My anger against them.

6:13You will know that I am the Lord when your wounded lie among your idols, around your altars, on every high hill and beneath a shady tree, where they offered a fragrant aroma to all their idols.

6:14I will stretch out My hand against them and make the land disappearance and destruction, from the wilderness of Deblatha, from every dwelling place; you will recognize that I am the Lord.’”
