The Utterance Against Moab’s Country

15:1The utterance against Moab’s country. In a night Moab’s country will perish, for in a night the wall of Moab’s country will perish.

15:2Grieve over yourselves, for Debon too will perish. Where your altar is, there you will ascend to weep. Over Nabau of Moab’s country, wail: baldness upon every head, every arm cut.

15:3In her squares put on sackcloth and beat yourselves in mourning; upon her roofs and in her lanes all of you wail with weeping.

15:4For Hesebon and Eleale have cried out; their voice was heard as far as Iassa. Therefore Moab’s loins cry out; her soul will know.

Moab’s Flight and Weeping

15:5Moab’s heart cries within her as far as Segor, for she is a three-year-old heifer. On Louith’s ascent they will ascend toward you weeping; along Aroniim’s road destruction and shaking cry out.

15:6Nemrim’s water will be deserted, and her grass cease; for there will be no green grass.

15:7Surely she is not going to be saved even so? For I will bring Arabs upon the ravine, and they will take her.

15:8For the cry has reached Moab’s border at Agallim, and her wailing extends to Ailim’s well.

15:9Remmon’s water will fill with blood; for I will bring Arabs upon Remmon and remove Moab’s offspring, Ariel and Adama’s remainder.
