The Seven Women and the Glory of the Remnant

4:1Seven women will take hold of one man, saying, “We will eat our own bread and put on our own clothes; only let your name be called over us. Take away our disgrace!”

4:2On that day God will shine out in counsel with glory upon the earth, to exalt and glorify what remains of Israel,

Those Remaining in Zion Will Be Called Holy

4:3and those remaining in Zion and left in Jerusalem will be called holy, all those recorded for life in Jerusalem,

4:4because the Lord will wash away the filth of Zion’s sons and daughters and thoroughly cleanse the blood from their midst, by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of burning.

A Cloud by Day, Fire by Night

4:5He will come, and it will be: a cloud will shade every place of Mount Zion and everything around her by day, and as of smoke and as of a light of fire burning by night; with all the glory it will be covered.

4:6It will be for shade from heat and in shelter and concealment from harshness and rain.
