29:1Concerning the people of another tribe.

29:2Thus says the Lord: Waters are rising from the north and will become a flooding torrent. It will flood the land and its fullness, the city and those living in it. People will cry out, and all the land’s inhabitants will shout aloud.

29:3At the sound of his onrush, of the hooves of his feet, the shaking of his chariots, and the noise of his wheels, fathers did not turn back to their sons, because their hands failed,

29:4on the day coming to destroy all the people of another tribe. I will obliterate Tyre and Sidon and all the remainder of their assistance, for the Lord will destroy the survivors of the islands.

29:5Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon and the survivors of the Anakim have been cast away. How long will you strike,

29:6sword of the Lord? How long will you not be quiet? Return to your sheath; rest and be lifted away!

29:7How will it be quiet? The Lord commanded it to rise against Ashkelon, against the coastal places, against those remaining.
