Take This Cup of Unmixed Wine

32:15Thus said the Lord, Israel’s God: Take this cup of unmixed wine from My hand, and give it to all the nations to whom I send you to drink,

32:16and they will drink, vomit, and go mad before the sword I am sending among them.

32:17And I took the cup from the Lord’s hand and gave it to the nations to whom the Lord sent me to drink:

32:18Jerusalem, Judah’s cities, Judah’s kings, and its rulers, to make them a desolation, an untrodden place, and a hissing;

32:19and Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his nobles, and all his people;

32:20and all his mixed population, all the Philistine kings, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and Ashdod’s remnant;

32:21and Idumea, the Moabite land, and Ammon’s sons;

32:22and all Tyre’s kings, Sidon’s kings, and the kings across the sea;

32:23and Dedan, Teman, Ros, and everyone shorn about his face;

32:24and all the mixed populations lodging in the wilderness;

32:25and all Elam’s kings and all the Persian kings;

32:26and all the kings from the east, far and near, each with his brother, and all the kingdoms upon the face of the earth.

Say to Them: Drink and Be Drunk

32:27And say to them: Thus said the Lord Almighty: Drink, get drunk, and vomit; you will fall and certainly not rise before the sword I am sending among you.

32:28And when they are unwilling to receive the cup from your hand to drink, say: Thus said the Lord: You will certainly drink.

32:29Because I am beginning to bring harm in the city upon which My name was named, and you will certainly not be cleansed, because I am summoning a sword against those dwelling upon the earth.

32:30And prophesy these words against them and say: The Lord will give an oracle from on high; from His holy place He will raise His voice. He will give an oracular word over His place, and they will answer with Aidad, like grape-gatherers. And upon those dwelling upon the earth,

The Lord’s Judgment upon All Flesh

32:31destruction comes upon a part of the earth, because the Lord has a judgment among the nations. He enters judgment with all flesh, and the ungodly were given to the sword, says the Lord.

32:32Thus said the Lord: Look, evils come from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind goes out from the earth’s farthest end.

32:33And those wounded by the Lord on the Lord’s day will lie from one part of the earth to another. They will certainly not be buried; they will be dung upon the earth’s face.

32:34Raise a shout, shepherds, and cry out; beat yourselves in mourning, rams of the sheep, because your days for slaughter have been fulfilled, and you will fall like choice rams.

Flight Will Perish from the Shepherds

32:35And flight will perish from the shepherds, and salvation from the rams of the sheep.

32:36A sound of shepherds crying and of sheep and rams shouting, because the Lord destroyed their grazing places,

32:37and the remnants of peace will cease before the anger of My fury.

32:38Like a lion He abandoned His lodging, because their land became an untrodden place before the great sword.
