The Second Vision: Four Horns and Four Craftsmen

2:1I lifted my eyes and saw: look, four horns!

2:2I said to the angel speaking within me, “What are these, lord?” He said to me, “These are the horns that scattered Judah and Israel.”

2:3The Lord showed me four craftsmen.

2:4I said, “What are these coming to do?” He said to me, “These horns that scattered Judah also shattered Israel, and none of them lifted a head. These entered to sharpen them for their hands—the four horns, the nations lifting a horn against the Lord’s land to scatter it.”

The Third Vision: The Measuring Line

2:5I lifted my eyes and saw: look, a man with a land-measuring cord in his hand!

2:6I said to him, “Where are you going?” He said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see how great its width is and how great its length.”

2:7Look, the angel speaking within me was standing, and another angel was going out to meet him,

2:8and said to him, “Run and speak to that young man: Jerusalem will be inhabited fruitfully because of the multitude of people and animals within her.

2:9I will be a wall of fire around her, says the Lord, and I will be glory within her.”

Flee from the Northern Land

2:10“Oh! Oh! Flee from the northern land,” says the Lord, “because I will gather you from the four winds of heaven,” says the Lord.

2:11Escape safely to Zion, you who dwell in daughter Babylon!

2:12For thus says the Lord Almighty: “After glory He sent me against the nations that plundered you, for whoever touches you is like one touching the pupil of his eye.

2:13Look, I am bringing My hand against them, and they will become spoils for those serving them; you will know that the Lord Almighty sent me.”

Delight and Rejoice, Daughter Zion

2:14“Delight and rejoice, daughter Zion, for look, I am coming and will dwell within you,” says the Lord.

2:15Many nations will take refuge with the Lord on that day and become His people. They will dwell within you, and you will recognize that the Lord Almighty sent me to you.

2:16The Lord will inherit Judah as His portion on the holy land and again choose Jerusalem.

2:17Let all flesh be reverent before the Lord, for He has risen from His holy clouds.
