That evening, on the first day of the week, while they spoke of these things, Jesus came and stood among them. The doors were shut for fear of the Jews, and they were reclining at table. He said, “Peace to you.” Startled and afraid, they thought they were seeing a spirit. He reproached their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who had seen Him raised.

And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do questionings arise in your heart? See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Feel Me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”

Having said this, He showed them His hands, His feet, and His side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. While they still did not believe for joy and were marveling, He asked, “Do you have anything to eat here?” They gave Him a portion of broiled fish, and He took it and ate before them.

Then Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you. Just as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And having said this, He breathed and says to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they have been forgiven them; if you retain those of any, they have been retained.”
