Very early, while it was still dark, He arose, went out, and departed to a deserted place, and there He prayed. Simon and those with him searched for Him and found Him. They said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”

The crowds also searched for Him, came to Him, and tried to keep Him from departing. But He said, “Let us go elsewhere, into the neighboring towns, so that I may proclaim there also, for that is why I came out. I must announce the good news of God’s kingdom to the other cities also, because for this I was sent.” He went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, casting out demons, and healing every disease and infirmity among the people. He continued proclaiming in the synagogues of Judea also.

The report about Him spread throughout Syria, and they brought Him all who were ill, afflicted with various diseases and torments, those oppressed by demons, those suffering seizures, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great crowds followed Him from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
