Greek Psalm 41

As the Deer Longs for Springs of Water

41:1For the end. For understanding, of the sons of Korah.

41:2As the deer longs for springs of water,

so my soul longs for You, God.

41:3My soul thirsted for the living God.

When will I come and appear before God’s face?

41:4My tears became my bread day and night,

while it is said to me every day, “Where is your God?”

41:5These things I remembered and poured out my soul within me:

for I will pass through the place of a wonderful tent to God’s house,

with a voice of exultation and thanksgiving,

a celebrating sound.

41:6Why are you deeply grieved, soul, and why do you disturb me?

Hope in God, for I will thank Him:

my God is the salvation of my face.

41:7My soul was troubled within me;

therefore I will remember You from the land of Jordan

and Hermoniim, from a small mountain.

41:8Abyss calls upon abyss at the sound of Your cataracts;

all Your billows and Your waves passed over me.

41:9By day the Lord will command His mercy,

and at night a song is with me,

a prayer to the God of my life.

41:10I will say to God, “You are my supporter; why have You forgotten me?

Why do I walk downcast while my enemy oppresses me?”

41:11As they crushed my bones, those afflicting me reproached me,

saying to me every day, “Where is your God?”

41:12Why are you deeply grieved, soul, and why do you disturb me?

Hope in God, for I will thank Him:

my God is the salvation of my face.
