53:1For the end. Among hymns. Of understanding, of David.

53:2When the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “Look, is David not hidden among us?”

53:3God, save me by Your name,

and judge me by Your power.

53:4God, hear my prayer;

give ear to the words of my mouth.

53:5For outsiders rose against me,

and powerful men sought my soul;

they did not set God before themselves. Diapsalma.

53:6For look, God helps me,

and the Lord is the supporter of my soul.

53:7He will turn the evils back upon my enemies;

in Your truth, utterly destroy them.

53:8I will sacrifice to You willingly;

I will give thanks to Your name, Lord, for it is good.

53:9For You rescued me from every affliction,

and my eye has looked upon my enemies.
