Where Has Your Beloved Gone? We Will Seek Him with You
← Song of Songs 5 · Song of Songs: all chapters · Song of Songs 7 →
6:1Where has your kinsman gone, beautiful among women? Where has your kinsman looked away? We will seek him with you.
6:2My kinsman went down to his garden, to the bowls of spice, to pasture in gardens and gather lilies.
6:3I am my kinsman’s, and my kinsman is mine; he pastures among the lilies.
6:4You are beautiful, my companion, like goodwill, lovely like Jerusalem, a terror like troops drawn up.
6:5Turn your eyes away from me, for they have given me wings. Your hair is like herds of goats that have appeared from Gilead.
6:6Your teeth are like herds of shorn sheep coming up from bathing, all bearing twins, with none childless among them.
6:7Your lips are like a scarlet cord, and your speech is lovely. Your cheek is like a pomegranate rind apart from your silence.
6:8There are sixty queens and eighty concubines, and young women without number.
6:9My dove, my perfect one, is the only one; she is the only one of her mother, the chosen one of the woman who bore her. Daughters saw her and will call her blessed; queens and concubines will praise her.
6:10Who is this looking out like dawn, beautiful like the moon, chosen like the sun, a terror like troops drawn up?
6:11I went down to the walnut garden to look at the produce of the wadi, to see whether the vine had blossomed, whether the pomegranates had flowered. There I will give you my breasts.
6:12My soul did not know; it set me among Amminadab’s chariots.
