Jesus speaks to people who are weary and burdened. His invitation joins rest with learning from Him. Begin this week by receiving that invitation before making a plan for everything you hope to change.
11:28 Come to Me, all who toil and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
11:30 For My yoke is kind, and My burden is light.”

Editorial reflection
A yoke is an image of shared labor and direction. Jesus offers rest while calling His hearers to take His yoke and learn His gentleness. The passage holds these together: being received by Him and becoming His disciple. You do not need to arrive with an impressive record of prayer or study. Bring the life you actually have. Read the three verses again, slowly, and notice the character of the One who speaks. Meekness and humility make His invitation a place of trust. Let the first movement of this week be toward Christ, with room to listen before you promise anything.

Lord Jesus, I come to You with the burdens I can name and those I struggle to express. Teach me Your gentleness. Give rest to my soul, and help me learn the way of life You place before me. Amen.
