Brothers, Even If a Person Is Caught
6:1Brothers, even if a person is overtaken in some transgression, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness, watching yourself, lest you too be tempted.
6:2Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
6:3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
6:4But let each test his own work, and then he will have his ground for boasting in relation to himself alone, and not in relation to someone else.
6:5For each will carry his own load.
Let the One Instructed Share
6:6Let the one instructed in the word share all good things with the one who instructs.
6:7Do not be deceived; God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows, that he will also reap.
6:8For the one who sows into his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows into the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
6:9And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in the proper season we will reap, if we do not give up.
6:10So then, as we have opportunity, let us work what is good toward everyone, especially toward those of the household of faith.
The Cross and the New Creation
6:11See with what large letters I have written to you in my own hand.
6:12All who want to make a good outward show in the flesh compel you to receive circumcision, only so that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
6:13For even those who receive circumcision do not themselves keep the law, but they want you to receive circumcision so that they may boast in your flesh.
6:14But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
6:15For neither circumcision is anything nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
6:16And as many as will keep in step with this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.
6:17From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I carry the marks of Jesus in my body.
6:18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
