Editorial guide

This reading edition follows the Greek main text of Rahlfs–Hanhart (2006), checked throughout against the publisher’s display. Its nine hundred fifty-nine source units are retained in source order. The paired Hebrew in the study companions was checked independently against BHS (1997). The full critical apparatus was not available for collation.

The reading text and both existing study companions have been revised together. The companions retain their common English row references and disclose differing BHS and Greek labels. These include the Decalogue order, 12:32–13:19, 22:30–23:26, and 28:69–29:28. A comparison-row displacement is not a missing reading verse.

Translation comparisons and verified rabbinic, apostolic, and patristic reception remain in the study companions. Significant Greek names, repeated clauses, and uncertain expressions are preserved and explained there. Editorial headings aid reading; they do not identify an official historical lectionary.

This volume compiles the native liturgical reading drafts (V1: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus · no version stated: Numbers, Deuteronomy) without altering their wording, verse labels, or source order. Chapter and verse references follow each book’s declared Greek source and may differ from familiar English editions; each book’s editorial guide explains the significant differences.

The selected seventy-book collection is the sixty-six-book lineup together with 1 and 2 Maccabees, the Epistle of Barnabas, and the Shepherd of Hermas. It is the project’s chosen collection and is not presented as a universal church canon.

Source and reception notes are kept separate from the reading text and remain in the companion comparison collection.

These are working translations. Critical apparatus collation, independent review by qualified Hebrew and Greek readers, verification of reception citations, and final publication proofing all remain outstanding. Inclusion here does not constitute ecclesiastical approval.
