The Curtains and Coverings
26:1You shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of spun fine linen, blue, purple, and spun scarlet yarn. You shall make them with cherubim, the work of a weaver.
26:2Each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide. All the curtains shall have the same measure.
26:3Five curtains shall be joined to one another, and the other five joined to one another.
26:4You shall make blue loops along the edge of one curtain at the joining side, and do the same along the edge of the outer curtain at the second joining.
26:5You shall make fifty loops on the one curtain and fifty along the edge of the curtain in the second set, with the loops opposite one another.
26:6You shall make fifty gold clasps and join the curtains to one another with the clasps, so that the tabernacle becomes one.
26:7You shall make hair curtains as a covering over the tabernacle. You shall make eleven curtains.
26:8Each curtain shall be thirty cubits long and four cubits wide. The eleven curtains shall have the same measure.
26:9You shall join five hair curtains by themselves and six by themselves, and double over the sixth curtain at the front of the tabernacle.
26:10You shall make fifty loops along the edge of the middle hair curtain at the joining, and fifty along the edge of the curtain joining the second set.
26:11You shall make fifty bronze clasps, join the clasps to the loops, and join the hair curtains so that they become one.
26:12You shall tuck under the surplus in the tabernacle’s hair curtains. You shall cover over the remaining half curtain; you shall cover over the surplus of the tabernacle’s hair curtains behind the tabernacle.
26:13A cubit on this side and a cubit on that side, from the excess length of the tabernacle’s hair curtains, shall cover the tabernacle’s sides on either side.
26:14You shall make a covering for the tabernacle of rams’ skins dyed red, with coverings of blue skins above it.
The Framing System
26:15You shall make posts of decay-resistant wood for the tabernacle.
26:16Each post shall be ten cubits in extent and a cubit and a half wide.
26:17Each post shall have two tenons fitted opposite each other. You shall make all the tabernacle’s posts this way.
26:18You shall make twenty posts for the tabernacle’s north side.
26:19You shall make forty silver bases for the twenty posts, two bases for one post at its two parts, and two bases for another post at its two parts.
26:20For the second side, to the south, there shall be twenty posts,
26:21with their forty silver bases, two bases for one post at its two parts, and two bases for another post at its two parts.
26:22For the rear of the tabernacle, toward the sea, you shall make six posts.
26:23You shall make two posts for the corners at the rear of the tabernacle.
26:24They shall be equal below, and likewise equal at their tops, at one joining. You shall make both this way for the two corners.
26:25There shall be eight posts with sixteen silver bases, two for each post at its two parts, and two for each post.
26:26You shall make bars of decay-resistant wood, five for the post on one side of the tabernacle,
26:27five for the post on the second side, and five for the rear post on the side toward the sea.
26:28The middle bar shall pass through the middle of the posts from one side to the other.
26:29You shall overlay the posts with gold and make gold rings into which you shall insert the bars. You shall overlay the bars with gold.
26:30You shall erect the tabernacle according to the plan shown to you on the mountain.
The Inner Veil
26:31You shall make a veil of blue, purple, and spun scarlet yarn and spun fine linen, with cherubim, the work of a weaver.
26:32You shall place it on four posts of decay-resistant wood overlaid with gold, with gold capitals and four silver bases.
26:33You shall place the veil on the posts and bring the ark of the testimony inside the veil. The veil shall separate the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies for you.
26:34You shall screen the ark of the testimony with the veil in the Holy of Holies.
26:35You shall place the table outside the veil and the lampstand opposite it on the tabernacle’s south side; the table shall be on the north side.
The Entrance Screen
26:36You shall make a screen of blue, purple, and spun scarlet yarn and spun fine linen, the work of an embroiderer.
26:37You shall make five posts for the curtain and overlay them with gold, with gold capitals, and cast five bronze bases for them.
