Making the Ark of the Covenant
38:1Bezalel made the ark.
38:2He overlaid it with pure gold inside and outside.
38:3He cast four gold rings for it, two on one side and two on the other.
38:4The rings were wide enough for the carrying poles, so that the ark could be carried with them.
38:5He made the propitiatory cover above the ark of gold.
38:6He made the two gold cherubim,
38:7one cherub at one end of the propitiatory cover and one cherub at its other end,
38:8sheltering the propitiatory cover with their wings.
Making the Table for the Bread of the Presence
38:9He made the table set before God of pure gold.
38:10aHe cast four rings for it, two on one side and two on the other,
38:10bwide enough for it to be carried by the carrying poles through them.
38:11aHe made the carrying poles of the ark and overlaid them with gold.
38:11bHe made the carrying poles of the table and overlaid them with gold.
38:12He made the table’s utensils of gold: its dishes, incense vessels, ladles, and libation vessels with which to pour drink offerings.
Making the Golden Lampstand
38:13–14He made the lampstand that gives light of gold, with a solid shaft and its branches on both sides.
38:15Shoots extended from its branches, three on this side and three on that side, corresponding to one another.
38:16The lamp supports at their ends were nut-shaped and formed from them, as were the fittings on which the lamps would stand. The seventh fitting was at the end of the lamp support, at the top above; it was wholly solid gold.
38:17He made seven gold lamps on it, its gold tongs, and its gold trays.
38:18He overlaid the pillars with silver, cast gold rings for the pillar, and overlaid the bars with gold. He overlaid the pillars of the veil with gold and made gold hooks.
38:19He also made the rings of the tent of gold, and the rings of the court and the rings for stretching the covering overhead of bronze.
38:20He cast the silver capitals of the tent and the bronze capitals of the tent doorway and the gate of the court. He made silver hooks for the pillars; he silvered them.
38:21He made the pegs of the tent and the pegs of the court of bronze.
Making the Altar of Burnt Offering
38:22He made the bronze altar from the bronze censers belonging to the men who had rebelled with the assembly of Korah.
38:23He made all the altar’s utensils: its firepan, its base, its bowls, and its bronze meat forks.
38:24aHe made an attachment for the altar, a network beneath the firepan, extending underneath it to its midpoint.
38:24bHe put four bronze rings on the four sides of the altar’s attachment, wide enough for the bars, so that the altar could be carried with them.
Making the Holy Anointing Oil and Incense
38:25He made the holy anointing oil and the compounded incense, the pure work of a perfumer.
38:26–27He made the bronze basin and its bronze stand from the mirrors of the women who fasted, who fasted at the doors of the Tent of Testimony, on the day he erected it. He made the basin so that Moses, Aaron, and his sons could wash their hands and feet from it. When they entered the Tent of Testimony or approached the altar to minister, they washed from it, as the Lord commanded Moses.
