Against the Neighbours Who Clapped Their Hands

Against the Sons of Ammon

25:1The Lord’s word came to me, saying,

25:2“Son of man, set your face firmly against the sons of Ammon and prophesy against them,

25:3and say to Ammon’s sons, ‘Hear the Lord’s word! Thus says the Lord: Because you rejoiced over My holy things when they were profaned, over Israel’s land when it was devastated, and over Judah’s house when they went into captivity,

25:4therefore behold, I am handing you to the sons of Kedem as an inheritance. They will camp with their equipment in you and set their dwellings in you. They will eat your fruits and drink your richness.

25:5I will make Ammon’s city pastures for camels, and Ammon’s sons a pasture for sheep. You will recognize that I am the Lord.

25:6For thus says the Lord: Because you clapped your hand and made noise with your foot, and rejoiced from your soul over Israel’s land,

25:7therefore I will stretch My hand against you, give you to plunder among the nations, utterly destroy you from the peoples and make you perish from the countries with destruction. You will recognize that I am the Lord.’

Against Moab

25:8Thus says the Lord: Because Moab said, ‘Behold, Israel’s and Judah’s house is like all the nations,’

25:9therefore behold, I am paralyzing Moab’s shoulder from its frontier cities, the choice land, the house of Asimouth above a spring of a coastal city.

25:10To Kedem’s sons, against Ammon’s sons, I have given them as an inheritance, so that no remembrance of Ammon’s sons may remain.

25:11I will exact vengeance upon Moab, and they will recognize that I am the Lord.

Against Idumea

25:12Thus says the Lord: Because Idumea acted by their exacting vengeance upon Judah’s house, bore a grudge and exacted punishment,

25:13therefore thus says the Lord: I will stretch My hand against Idumea and utterly destroy human and animal from her. I will make her a wilderness, and those pursued from Thaiman will fall by the sword.

25:14I will place My vengeance upon Idumea by the hand of My people Israel. They will act in Idumea according to My anger and My wrath, and they will recognize My vengeance, says the Lord.

Against the Foreigners

25:15Therefore thus says the Lord: Because the foreigners acted in vengeance and stirred up vengeance, rejoicing from their soul to wipe out forever,

25:16therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will stretch My hand against the foreigners, utterly destroy Cretans and make the remaining inhabitants of the coast perish.

25:17I will execute great acts of vengeance upon them. They will recognize that I am the Lord when I bring My vengeance upon them.”
