Yokes Sent to Kings Who Would Not Wear Them

Make Bonds and Neck Collars

34:2Thus said the Lord: Make bonds and neck collars and put them around your neck,

34:3and send them to Idumea’s king, Moab’s king, the king of Ammon’s sons, Tyre’s king, and Sidon’s king by their messengers coming to meet them in Jerusalem, to Zedekiah king of Judah.

34:4And command them to tell their masters: Thus said the Lord, Israel’s God: Say this to your masters:

34:5I made the earth by My great strength and My lofty undertaking, and I will give it to whoever seems right in My eyes.

34:6I gave the earth to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to serve him, and the field’s beasts to work for him.

34:8And the nation and kingdom, whoever will not put their neck under Babylon’s king’s yoke—I will visit them with sword and famine, said the Lord, until they disappear by his hand.

Do Not Listen to Your False Prophets

34:9And do not listen to your false prophets, those divining for you, those dreaming for you, your omens, or your enchantments, who say: You will certainly not work for Babylon’s king.

34:10Because they prophesy false things to you, to remove you far from your land.

34:11And the nation that brings its neck under Babylon’s king’s yoke and works for him, I will leave it in its own land, and it works for him and will dwell in it.

34:12And I spoke to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying: Bring your neck,

34:14and work for Babylon’s king, because they prophesy unjust things to you.

34:15Because I did not send them, says the Lord, and they prophesy unjustly in My name to destroy you. You will perish, you and your prophets who prophesy false things unjustly to you.

I Spoke to All This People and the Priests

34:16I spoke to you, all this people, and the priests, saying: Thus said the Lord: Do not listen to the prophets’ words prophesying to you, Look, the Lord’s house’s vessels will return from Babylon, because they prophesy unjust things to you. I did not send them.

34:18If they are prophets and the Lord’s word is in them, let them meet with Me.

34:19Because thus said the Lord: And of the remaining vessels,

34:20which Babylon’s king did not take when he deported Jeconiah from Jerusalem,

34:22they will go into Babylon, says the Lord.
