Moving on, Jesus entered a synagogue and taught on another Sabbath. A man was there whose right hand was withered. The scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely to see whether He would heal him, so that they might accuse Him. They asked, “Is it lawful to heal on Sabbaths?” He knew their thoughts and said to the man, “Rise and stand in the middle.” He rose and stood.

Jesus asked them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save a life or to kill?” But they remained silent. He said, “Who among you, if he has one sheep and it falls into a pit on a Sabbath, will not grasp it and lift it out? How much more valuable, then, is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on Sabbaths.” Looking around at them with anger, grieving at the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and it was restored, healthy like the other.

They were filled with mindless anger. The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against Him, discussing how they might destroy Him.
