He said to them, “Does the lamp come to be put under the modius basket, covered with a vessel, or hidden under a bed? Is it not to be put on the lampstand, so that those entering may see the light? Nothing is hidden except to be revealed, nor has anything become secret except to come into the open. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear. Pay attention to what you hear, and watch how you hear. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and more will be added to you. Whoever has will be given more; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him.”
He said, “The kingdom of God is like this: a man casts seed on the ground, and sleeps and rises, night and day, while the seed sprouts and grows—he himself does not know how. The earth bears fruit of itself: first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. When the crop permits, he immediately sends in the sickle, because the harvest has arrived.”
