22:1A psalm of David.

The Lord shepherds me, and nothing will fail me.

22:2He made me dwell in a place of green growth;

He nourished me beside water of rest.

22:3He turned my soul back;

He guided me upon paths of righteousness

for His name’s sake.

22:4For even if I walk in the midst of death’s shadow,

I will fear no evils, for You are with me;

Your rod and Your staff comforted me.

22:5You prepared a table before me opposite those who afflict me;

You enriched my head with oil,

and Your cup is intoxicating—how excellent!

22:6And Your mercy will pursue me all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the Lord’s house for length of days.
