76:1For the end, concerning Jeduthun.

Of Asaph. A psalm.

76:2With my voice I cried to the Lord,

with my voice to God, and He attended to me.

76:3In the day of my affliction I sought God,

with my hands at night before Him, and I was not deceived;

my soul refused to be comforted.

76:4I remembered God and was glad;

I spoke at length, and my spirit lost heart.

Diapsalma.

76:5My eyes anticipated the watches;

I was troubled and did not speak.

76:6I considered ancient days,

and remembered everlasting years and meditated.

76:7At night I spoke at length with my heart,

and my spirit kept searching.

76:8“Will the Lord reject for the ages,

and not again take pleasure?

76:9Or will He cut off His mercy to the end,

from generation to generation?

76:10Or will God forget to show pity,

or hold His compassion shut in His wrath?”

76:11And I said, “Now I have begun;

this is the change of the Most High’s right hand.”

76:12I remembered the Lord’s works,

for I will remember Your wonders from the beginning,

76:13and meditate on all Your works,

and speak at length about Your practices.

76:14God, Your way is in the Holy One;

what god is great like our God?

76:15You are the God who does wonders;

You made Your power known among the peoples.

76:16With Your arm You redeemed Your people,

the sons of Jacob and Joseph.

76:17The waters saw You, God;

the waters saw You and feared,

and the depths were troubled—a multitude of sounding waters.

76:18The clouds gave voice,

for Your arrows too pass through.

76:19Your thunder’s voice was in the wheel;

Your lightning shone upon the inhabited world;

the earth shook and became trembling.

76:20Your way is in the sea,

and Your paths in many waters,

and Your tracks will not be known.

76:21You guided Your people like sheep

by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
