9:1For the end, concerning the hidden things of the son. A psalm of David.

9:2I will give thanks to You, Lord, with my whole heart;

I will recount all Your wonders.

9:3I will rejoice and exult in You;

I will sing praise to Your name, Most High.

9:4When my enemy turns back,

they will grow weak and perish before You,

9:5for You have upheld my judgment and my cause;

You sat on a throne, You who judge righteousness.

9:6You rebuked nations, and the ungodly one perished;

You erased their name forever and for the age of the age.

9:7The enemy’s swords failed utterly, and You pulled down cities;

their memory perished with a noise.

9:8And the Lord remains forever;

He prepared His throne for judgment,

9:9and He will judge the inhabited world in righteousness;

He will judge peoples with uprightness.

9:10And the Lord became a refuge for the needy,

a helper at fitting times in distress.

9:11Let those who know Your name hope in You,

for You have not abandoned those who seek You, Lord.

9:12Sing praise to the Lord, who dwells in Zion;

announce His deeds among the nations,

9:13for He who calls bloodshed to account remembered them;

He did not forget the cry of the needy.

9:14Have mercy on me, Lord;

see my humiliation from my enemies,

You who raise me from the gates of death,

9:15so that I may proclaim all Your praises

in the gates of daughter Zion;

I will exult in Your salvation.

9:16Nations became fixed in the destruction they wrought;

in this trap they concealed, their foot was caught.

9:17The Lord is known as He executes judgments;

the sinner was caught in the works of his own hands.

9:18Let sinners turn back to Hades,

all nations that forget God.

9:19For the poor will not be forgotten utterly;

the endurance of the needy will not perish forever.

9:20Arise, Lord; do not let a human being grow strong;

let nations be judged before You.

9:21Appoint a lawgiver over them, Lord;

let nations know that they are human beings.

9:22Why, Lord, have You stood far away,

overlooking us at fitting times in distress?

9:23As the ungodly man exalts himself, the poor man is set ablaze;

they are caught in the counsels they devise.

9:24For the sinner is praised for the desires of his soul,

and the one who acts unjustly is blessed.

9:25The sinner provoked the Lord.

According to the abundance of his anger, he will not seek out;

God is not before him.

9:26His ways are profaned at every time;

Your judgments are removed from before him;

he will lord it over all his enemies.

9:27For he said in his heart, “I will certainly not be shaken,

from generation to generation, without adversity.”

9:28His mouth is full of cursing, bitterness, and deceit;

under his tongue are toil and trouble.

9:29He sits in ambush with rich people,

to kill an innocent person in hiding places;

his eyes look toward the needy.

9:30He lurks in hiding like a lion in its enclosure;

he lurks to seize a poor man,

to seize a poor man as he drags him away.

9:31In his trap he will humble him;

he will bow down and fall as he lords it over the needy.

9:32For he said in his heart, “God has forgotten;

He turned His face away so as never to see.”

9:33Arise, Lord God; let Your hand be raised;

do not forget the needy.

9:34For what reason did the ungodly provoke God?

For he said in his heart, “He will not call to account.”

9:35You see, for You perceive trouble and anger,

to hand them over into Your hands.

To You, therefore, the poor man has been left;

You were helping the orphan.

9:36Crush the arm of the sinful and evil man;

his sin will be sought out, and he will certainly not be found because of it.

9:37The Lord will reign forever and for the age of the age;

you will perish, nations, from His land.

9:38The Lord heard the desire of the needy;

Your ear attended to the preparation of their heart,

9:39to judge for the orphan and the lowly,

so that a human being on the earth may no longer boast greatly.
