As the Mountains Surround Jerusalem, So the Lord Surrounds His People

124:1A song of the ascents.

Those trusting in the Lord are like Mount Zion;

the one dwelling in Jerusalem will never be shaken.

124:2Mountains are around her,

and the Lord is around His people,

from now and forever.

124:3For He will not leave the rod of sinners

upon the lot of the righteous,

so that the righteous may not stretch out

their hands in lawlessness.

124:4Do good, Lord, to the good

and to those upright in heart.

124:5But those turning aside into tangled ways—

the Lord will lead them away with workers of lawlessness.
