125:1A song of the ascents.

When the Lord turned back Zion’s captivity,

we became like those comforted.

125:2Then our mouth was filled with joy

and our tongue with exultation.

Then they will say among the nations,

“The Lord has done great things with them.”

125:3The Lord has done great things with us;

we became glad.

125:4Turn back our captivity, Lord,

like torrents in the south.

125:5Those sowing in tears

will reap with exultation.

125:6Going, they went and wept,

carrying their seeds;

but coming, they will arrive with exultation,

carrying their sheaves.
