Mandate 1.1.1 First of all, believe that God is one, who created and ordered all things and made all things pass from nonexistence into being, who contains all things but alone cannot be contained.

Mandate 1.1.2 Believe in Him, then, and fear Him; and in fearing Him, exercise self-control. Keep these things, and you will cast every wickedness away from yourself and put on every virtue of righteousness; and you will live to God, if you keep this commandment.
