Similitude 10.1.1 After I had finished writing this book, that messenger who had entrusted me to this shepherd came into the house where I was and sat upon the couch. This shepherd stood at his right hand. Then he called me and said these things to me:

Similitude 10.1.2 “I entrusted you and your household to this shepherd,” he said, “so that you might be protected by him.” I said, “Yes, sir.” “If, then,” he said, “you wish to be protected from all distress and all cruelty, and to have success in every good work and word and every virtue of righteousness, walk in this shepherd's commandments, which I gave you, and you will be able to rule over all wickedness.

Similitude 10.1.3 For as you keep his commandments, every desire and delight of this age will be subject to you, and success in every good undertaking will follow you. Take his maturity and moderation upon yourself, and tell everyone that he has great honor and dignity before the Lord, that he presides with great authority and is powerful in his office. To him alone throughout the whole world has the authority of repentance been given. Does he seem powerful to you? Yet you despise his maturity and the restraint he shows toward you.”
