Wisdom of Solomon calls us to love righteousness, seek the wisdom of God, and trust His care through suffering and death. Within the Wisdom division, it joins prayerful discernment to hope in God’s justice and mercy. Christians hear its portrait of the suffering righteous one anew in the passion of Christ and His vindication in the resurrection.

The reading journey

After the lament for Jerusalem, Wisdom of Solomon turns toward the hope of the righteous and God’s care through suffering. Its prayer for wisdom leads naturally into Sirach’s instruction for everyday faithfulness. In this edition, these books bring the Wisdom division toward its close.
