Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.

Why do you see the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the beam in your own eye?

Or how will you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the splinter from your eye,’ when behold, the beam is in your own eye?

Hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.

Do not give what is holy to dogs or throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them with their feet and turn and tear you apart.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives, the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

Or who among you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?

If you, then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in the heavens give good things to those who ask Him!

So in everything, whatever you wish people to do for you, you also do likewise for them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Enter through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

Because the gate is narrow and the road constricted that leads to life, and few find it.

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

You will recognize them by their fruits. Do people gather grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the rotten tree bears evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into fire.

So then, you will recognize them by their fruits.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of the heavens, but the one who does the will of My Father in the heavens.

Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and do many mighty works in Your name?’

Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and does them will be likened to a prudent man who built his house upon the rock.

The rain came down, the rivers came, and the winds blew and fell upon that house, and it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock.

And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand.

The rain came down, the rivers came, and the winds blew and struck that house, and it fell; and its fall was great.”

When Jesus finished these words, the crowds were astonished at His teaching,

for He taught them as One having authority, and not as their scribes.
